Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
Gtick ("the app", "we", "us") is a habit tracker that lets you define habits on the web and tick them off from your Garmin Instinct watch. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, email address, and basic profile details (such as your name) to create and identify your account.
- Habit data. The habits you create, their settings (such as your day-rollover hour), and your daily completion records ("ticks").
- Pairing data. When you link a watch, we generate a short pairing code and a long-lived device token so the watch can sync with your account. We store a reference to each paired device.
How we use your data
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To store your habits and completion history and sync them between the web app and your paired Garmin Instinct watch.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for advertising. Data is processed by our infrastructure providers (Google Firebase: Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Functions) solely to provide the service. Your watch communicates directly with our backend at gtick.app.
Data retention
Your habits and completion history are retained while your account is active so your statistics remain available. Deleted habits are archived rather than permanently removed so historical records are preserved. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Contact).
Your choices
- You can unpair a watch at any time from the web app, which revokes that device's token.
- You can request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
Security
Communication with our servers uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your data requires authentication with your account or a valid device token.
Children
Gtick is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
